Lana Del Rey for H&M

The titles of our posts sometimes look like elaborate codes for contacting the aliens. Sorry :)
Lana Del Rey is, without any doubt, no rookie in the fashion world. For starters, she graced several magazine covers, including our still favourite cover of Russian Interview. Also she was great as cover-girl for British Vogue. And we haven't even talked about different Glamours yet.
Vogue Italia has recently published an incredible photoshoot starring Lana. You can see the rest of the pictures and a flawless video right here. By Ellen Von Unwerth:
Finally, a bag named after you is the ultimate symbol of recognition by the fashion world, isn't it? And that's exactly what happened with Lana thanks to Mulberry:
And now Lana became the new face of H&M fall collection 2012. The campaign was shot by Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin:

On September 19th Elizabeth Grant (Lana's real name) will release a special music video on the official site of H&M. The latter, in their turn, promise to the market collaborations with Maison Martin Margiela and Anna Dello Russo soon. Meanwhile, you can look at Lana, listen to Lana's music and plan you fall wardrobe!

#theydiditright

With this particular hashtag Twitterverse responded to the yesterday's Closing Ceremony of Olympic Games 2012. An important role in the ceremony was given to British fashion: several huge billboards, picturing British top-models wearing exquisite garments by British designers, were displayed in the center of the main stage. Kate Moss (in Alexander McQueen), Naomi Campbell (also wearing Alexander McQueen), Stella Tennant (in Christopher Kane), Lily Cole (in Erdem), Karen Elson (in Burberry), Jourdan Dunn (in Jonathan Saunders and Stephen Jones), Georgia May Jagger (in Victoria Beckham), Lily Donaldson (in Vivienne Westwood) and David Gandy (in Paul Smith). Shortly after their appearance the posters revealed the fashion-stars themselves. They walked rather fiercely the improvised runways - the lines of Union Jack (main stage decoration). The looks were created by Sam McKnight (famous British hair artist) and Val Garland (renowned British make-up artist).
We hope that after watching the ceremony, Russian Olympic committee hasn't decided to invite Viatcheslav Zaitsev and Valentin Yudashkin to Sochi's events in order to show 'Russian fashion'...

September issue

The new fashion year will start in a few weeks. And the September issue of American Vogue will be the main guide of these upcoming 12 months. It beats its own record with 916 pages of fashion-related articles, editorials, photoshoots, interviews, trends and advertisements.
Lady Gaga, viewed through the lense of recent favourites of Queen Wintour's journalistic kingdom - photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, graced the cover.
A short article, published on the Vogue's site, explains the choice of the cover-star. Her popularity, her extremely successful world tour Monster Ball, her music, her ambiguous style (of course, the meat dress was mentioned several times), her fragrance Fame (out in September) which will be black in the bottle but transparent when sprayed on the skin (we adore reading lists of perfume's ingridients, so: flower Belladonna, incense, honey drops, saffron, apricot, Sambac jasmine and tiger orchid). By the way, the bottle was designed by Nick Knight and the ad campaign starring Lady Gaga herself was shot by Steven Klein.
September promises to be interesting!
