Lana Del Rey for H&M

The titles of our posts sometimes look like elaborate codes for contacting the aliens. Sorry :)

Lana Del Rey is, without any doubt, no rookie in the fashion world. For starters, she graced several magazine covers, including our still favourite cover of Russian Interview. Also she was great as cover-girl for British Vogue. And we haven't even talked about different Glamours yet.

Vogue Italia has recently published an incredible photoshoot starring Lana. You can see the rest of the pictures and a flawless video right here. By Ellen Von Unwerth:

Finally, a bag named after you is the ultimate symbol of recognition by the fashion world, isn't it? And that's exactly what happened with Lana thanks to Mulberry:

And now Lana became the new face of H&M fall collection 2012. The campaign was shot by Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin:

On September 19th Elizabeth Grant (Lana's real name) will release a special music video on the official site of H&M. The latter, in their turn, promise to the market collaborations with Maison Martin Margiela and Anna Dello Russo soon. Meanwhile, you can look at Lana, listen to Lana's music and plan you fall wardrobe!

Fashion Pact

Today we learnt that starting with their June issues 19 international editions of Vogue magazine would follow the new policy concerning their choice of models:

“1. We will not knowingly work with models under the age of 16 or who appear to have an eating disorder. We will work with models who, in our view, are healthy and help to promote a healthy body image.

2. We will ask agents not to knowingly send us underage girls and casting directors to check IDs when casting shoots, shows and campaigns.

3. We will help to structure mentoring programs where more mature models are able to give advice and guidance to younger girls, and we will help to raise industry-wide awareness through education, as has been integral to the Council of Fashion Designers of America Health Initiative.

4. We will encourage producers to create healthy backstage working conditions, including healthy food options and a respect for privacy. We will encourage casting agents not to keep models unreasonably late.

5. We encourage designers to consider the consequences of unrealistically small sample sizes of their clothing, which limits the range of women who can be photographed in their clothes, and encourages the use of extremely thin models.

6. We will be ambassadors for the message of healthy body image.”

August issue

You're right dear friends... The heat was too much not only for you - we suffered badly. Kilos of ice-cream and hours passed under the shade of parks (and as for somebody - within four walls of an office) were not for nothing, but brought us tons of ideas! So it's time to recover from summer anabiosis and to prepare for the new season. September issues are already approaching stealthily to the news-stands. We can do nothing else but catch up with the leaders (don't be upset: Germany don't hurry to show Vogue's September cover to the world, too). Even if Karl Lagerfeld said after the Chanel Haute Couture show that "Fashion is about going ahead, not about the memory", we won't listen to him and we will look back - to the present - because let's be honest with each other, August is only starting!

1. Australia: Cameron Diaz by Regan Cameron (Remember that Australia is theoretically ruled by the British Queen. Maybe that explains almost exact reprinting of British Vogue's July cover. But what can explain the exact reprinting of Italian Vanity Fair's July cover???

2. Great Britain: beautiful Freja Beha Erichsen (by Josh Olins) wearing the scandalous Miu Miu dress. Scandalous because it appeared at the same time on British Elle's and W's covers. Oooooooh! Bloggers talked over it for a week and then calmed down. So what? It happens.

3. Germany: 23 years' old Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw (by Alexi Lubomirski) appeared on the German Vogue's cover wearing a Balmain dress. But we do know that the most beautiful Vogue's cover with Abbey Lee Kershaw was the one of Russian Vogue March issue. And there is nothing to discuss here!



5. Greece: Yulia Mizhui (by Costas Avgoulis).
6. India: Yes-yes-yes! India used to be a British colony... And it is not far from Australia... With all due respect to Cameron Diaz... Brrrrrrrr!
7. Spain: It is good that Russian models exist, isn't it? Otherwise Cameron would have conquered all the August covers. Anna Selezneva (by Maciek Kobielski).
8. Mexico: But this is insane! It seems that Cameron has already surpassed Brain and conquered our world. So, let's rather look at the July cover - Shannan Click by David Roemer.
9. Portugal: as for Portugal, it's small but independent. No reprints! At least, this month! Actress Daniela Ruah (by Marcin Tyszka)

10. Korea: Korean Vogue celebrates its 14th Birthday in a right way - not only accepts presents but also gives them: the most important present - the wonderful cover with Natalia Vodyanova (by Paolo Roversi). Don't stop on the cover, watch behind-the-scenes video to learn that Natalia's favourite Vogue's cover is this one (Vogue UK, May 2008, by Mario Testino; Style: Lucinda Chambers):


11. China: a non-risk variant - Karlie Kloss by Peter Lindberg
12. Taiwan: it was Vivian Hsu who was responsible for the national honour.
13. Japan: Anna Dello Russo styles one photomasterpiece after another (spoiler: September issue cover is very good). Our old friend Abbey Lee Kershaw.

14. Brazil: the magazine is true to itself - a Brazilian Renata Kuerten.
15. Turkey: Victoria Beckham decided to resist to Cameron Diaz's monopoly (by Ellen von Unwerth).
